A-List will be introducing the fantastic LVL lashes from Nouveau Beauty Group after Monday. LVL stands for length and volume and to cut a long story short, the treatment makes your own lashes look extra long and thick (like false lashes) and lasts up to 6 weeks. This product is super for holidays as the lashes will not be affected by swimming, sun oil, etc. All the top make-up technicians are blown away with this product - it only takes 45 minutes too! All info will be on the site soon - look under the Eyes and Brows tab - I know you will love it.

Everyone wants sexy, smoky eyes but it’s a look that can be difficult to get right. Both eyes need to be symmetrical and perfectly blended. The shadow should never compete with your eyes. Not surprising then that smoky eyes are the most requested look for at the moment! Here is a quick and very easy guide. It requires very few products and the whole look can be done with just fingertips. 1. Apply under eye concealer so that your eyes appear fresh and bright otherwise no matter how well your shadow is applied you will just look tired.
2. Apply a little loose powder to the crease of the socket and a tiny amount to set the concealer, pay attention to the lower lash line. 3. Take a basic soft black eye pencil and apply to the roots of your upper lashes in short feathery strokes. Then with your ring finger smudge the line. 4. Now apply the pencil to the inner rim of your eyes. 5. Dip your ring finger into your chosen shadow, charcoals, greys and dark browns all work well and smudge the shadow over the eye pencil. Work it into the lash line back and forth until blended. Continue to build the colour in this way until you have achieved the desired effect. Keep the colour to the lower third of the eyelid. Don’t try to extend it out or up to the socket. Remember you don’t want to try too hard with this look. 6. Apply lots of black mascara to the upper and lower lashes. Done! So, first tip over - would love some comments if you give it try. Hi all - muscled in on some Fake Bake spray tanning training with some pals this week. I have always given the spray tanning a miss as I didnt like the way that the tans fade or that nasty oompaloompa look, that the tents seem to have lives and wills of their own and that the guns were a bit off a law unto themselves. Anyway, after the Fake Bake training my opinions are now changing and I am asking around some mates in the industry for which spray tanning products seem to be the celebs favourites (think we will soon be adding spray tanning to our mobile and salon services so watch this space!).
A-List Beauty will be attending the Hawkinge Pamper Evening this comming Friday, 25th May. I think we will be bringing the A-Lift machine, and will be doing Eye Lifts, massage and maybe Shellac. Come on down and try the treatments out at our special pamper evening prices.... look forward to seeing you there.
The Marvel lash course was interesting and I like their anti-ageing eye patches, so might treat myself to some of those. If you look at our Eyes & Brows page there are before and after pictures of the Marvel lashes.
The microdermabrasion training at The Carlton Institute was extremely beneficial to my World Skills routine. Microdermabrasion gently removes the top two skin layers which helps with scaring, acne scaring, fine lines and pigmentation issues and can be used on faces, backs, etc. We hope to introduce a microdermabrasion machine later in the year. So, here goes with my first post.....
Last week our new fab Shellac colours arrived. Our new arrivals are Black Pool, Moonlight & Roses, Silver & Gold VIP Status, Tutti Fruiti, Gotcha, Rosebud, Studio white, Iced Coral, Purple Purple and Hotski Tchotchke. I'm hoping to do some colour pops soon showing all our different colous, but the layering opportunities are endless so it will take a while to decide on our favourite combiinations.. Today i'm playing away from the Salon and doing a quick bit of extra training with Marvellash. I'm rather looking forward to this as all lash company's train differently, so hope to pick up some new tricks with the semi-permanent lashes that I dont already know. Will update with short report later.... Have just found out today that I will be having a days training later this week at The Carlton Institute. This should be really beneficial to help me train for the World Skills Competition so will report back on that too... |
